It was 1984 when the Gallitelli family's adventure in coffee began from an idea of ​​Mr. Giuseppe.

The first historic purchase dates back to the first “Saeco super-automatic” coffee machine, capable of grinding freshly roasted beans.

And it is precisely in this first phase that Luigi and Marco begin to take their first steps in the fascinating world of "machines", accompanied by the increasingly enthusiastic commitment of their father Peppino.

After 15 years in automatic distribution, Giuseppe decides to start a parallel path: roasting was born in 1999, with the aim of producing the prized "intellectual drink". Moved by a keen passion for roasting, Giuseppe begins to transform the raw material and to create increasingly sophisticated combined blends of “Arabica” and “Robusta” coffee, combining craftsmanship and technological progress.

After having consolidated the core business of coffee beans, distributed through an ever-increasing number of bars and restaurants, the company subsequently seized the opportunities offered by the mono-portioned market, investing in new lines for the production of pods and capsules.

In 2015, following the high dimensional increases of the entire production structure, it changes its organizational and legal status and becomes a joint-stock company. In addition to roasting, the Gallitelli group includes the vending division and two cafes: the Blues Cafè in Mottola - the "spy of Puglie" on the Taranto Murge - and the Gran Caffè Gallitelli in Matera, the city carved into the rock and known for its Sassi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an international tourist destination.
